A Maui Slam Poetry Fundraiser

Maui Slam Poetry journeys to the Paia Tattoo Parlor this Thursday, August 26th to host this fundraiser to help send Mountain to the Individual World Poetry Championships!

+performances by Maui Slam poets & other special guests
+open mic sign up for rogue poets 18 and older
+fashion show by A.R.I.E Designs (Ariana Hornkohl) and Lola & Anna (Shelly Lindsey)
+Paia Tattoo Gallery Art Exhibit
+inspired Beats all evening long

SUPPORT MOUNTAIN as he travels to the world champs in October, 2010!

MC & performance poet Mountain has been selected to represent Maui at this year’s World Poetry Slam!! He, along with 95 of the world’s top performance poets representing slam venues from around the globe, will compete in October in Philadelphia.

On Thursday, August 26th, you can help Maui Slam Poetry send Mountain to compete at the world champs. All donations from this fundraiser benefit Mountain’s trip as well as 10% of all food sales from Milagros Restaurant (downstairs from the tattoo parlor) on August 26th.

There's no cover for this event, however there is a suggested donation of $5-$10. Thank you!

About Paia Tattoo Parlor Gallery: Established in 2009, The gallery at Paia Tattoo Parlor hosts revolving monthly art installations, ranging from paintings and photography to fiber art installations and printmaking. The goal of Paia Tattoo Parlor Gallery is to support local artists through dynamic exhibitions in a community-based art space.
