Maui Roller Girls’ Monster Smash - Sat, Oct 30. ‘Ohana-friendly and alcohol free. It’s the MRG’s inaugural event of the season — and the blood may be real! The toughest titas on four wheels are rolling in from all four corner’s of the 808′s derby world — and all will be in costume (with ‘fishnet to keep it interesting’). Plus, there will be a keiki costume parade during halftime. Pineapples and Pumpkins Celebration – Sat, Oct 30. Again this year, King Kamehameha III Elementary School’s winning keiki decorations will be on display. But instead of pumpkins, Lahaina Gateway provided them with Hailiimaile Pineapple Company’s Maui Gold pineapples to create unique fall displays. From 10am-2pm, there will be Maui Gold samples, demos and recipes, plus pumpkin treats at participating stores. Live entertainment abounds as does prize-doling contests. Underwater Pumpkin Carving – It’s nonsensical, but inexplicably intriguing. Guests are invited to watch scuba divers descend amidst sharks, fish and rays, as they endeavor the pastime of pumpkin carving whilst underwater.
